Biba returns at House of Fraser

Today we went to House of Fraser to check out the relaunch of Biba's clothing.

For those who don't know this iconic boutique, Biba was first opened in Kensington, London in 1964 by Barbara Hulanicki and soon acquired a cult following which included celebrities such as Twiggy and Brigitte Bardot.

Our views on the new Biba collection are on the whole positive and we think it features some really good pieces (such as the flamboyant feather boleros and the embellished deco dresses and blouses), however we found the prices a bit too high considering the idea of accessibility embraced by the original Biba.

Per chi non conoscesse questa icona fra le boutique, Biba fu aperta a Kensington, Londra nel 1964 da Barbara Hulanicki, e ha avuto subito un seguito di culto che comprendeva celebrità come Twiggy e Brigitte Bardot.

La nostra opinione sulla nuova collezione di Biba è nel complesso positiva e abbiamo apprezzato molto  svariati pezzi (per esempio i teatrali bolero di piume e i vestiti e le camicette con ornamenti deco), tuttavia abbiamo trovato i prezzi un po' troppo alti considerando l'idea di accessibilità che aveva caratterizzato la Biba originale.
