Xmas Window shopping: Topshop

Waiting for the first snow (hopefully on tuesday),
we enjoyed watching Topshop's new windows that turned white for the winter!

We were amazed by the giant snow globe and by the (fake) snow flakes flying around :)

Inspired by this window, we created two winter outfits:
which one do you like most?

Aspettando la prima neve (speriamo martedì),
ci siamo divertite a guardare le nuove vetrine di Topshop, che si sono tinte di bianco per l'inverno.

Siamo rimaste colpite dal gigantesco snow globe e dai fiocchi di (finta) neve
che volteggiavano al suo interno :)

Ispirate da queste vetrine, abbiamo creato due outfit invernali:

Fashion Icons: Anna Dello Russo

You may love her or hate her, but Anna Dello Russo is unquestionably

a contemporary fashion icon and a trendsetter.

Editor of Vogue Japan, described by Helmut Newton as a "fashion maniac"

and by herself as a "passionate fashionista" (quoting her blog profile),

she's definitely not afraid of wearing eye-catching outfits!

Do you think her status as web heroine of fashion is well deserved?

C'è chi la ama e c'è chi la odia, ma Anna Dello Russo è senza dubbio

una icona della moda contemporanea e una trendsetter.

Editor di Vogue Japan, definita da Helmut Newton una "fashion maniac",

descrive se stessa come "passionate fashionista" (nel profilo del suo blog)

e non ha sicuramente paura di indossare outfit che attirano l'attenzione!

Wigs - Do or Don't?

Sometimes, while choosing an outfit, we think "this dress would look so much better if I was a brunette!", doesn't it happen to you too?

We would like to have seven different wigs, one for each day of the week, to create a new look everyday! :)

What do you think about wigs? Do or Don't??
We don't own any but we think they look great at parties!

A volte, scegliendo un outfit, ci capita di pensare, "questo vestito starebbe molto meglio se avessi i capelli castani!, non succede anche a voi?

Ci piacerebbe avere sette parrucche diverse, una per ogni giorno della settimana, per creare ogni giorno un look diverso! :)

Model: Anja Rubik

Another model whose face keeps lately appearing non-stop on major magazine covers and ad campaigns (such as Fendi, H&M, Lanvin) is the Polish beauty Anja Rubik.

Anja's edgy attitude and the powerful and charming look in her eyes make her really stand out.

We also love the fact that she manages to look androgynous, modern, sophisticated and ladylike at the same time!

What do you think about Anja? Is she on your favourite models list?

Un'altra modella il cui viso ultimamente appare senza stop sulle copertine delle riviste più importanti e in campagne pubblicitarie (tra cui Fendi, H&M, Lanvin) è la bellissima modella polacca Anja Rubik.

L'attitude edgy e lo sguardo forte e affascinante nei suoi occhi, sono le caratteristiche che fanno risaltare maggiormente Anja.

Ci piace anche molto il modo in cui riesce a creare un'immagine androgina, moderna, sofisticata e ladylike al tempo stesso!

There is another major trend of the season we haven't talked about yet:
the cape coat!
Capes have been going in and out of fashion (mostly out) for quite a long time,
but now it's time for a huge comeback.
Beautiful versions by Chloé, Yves Saint Laurent, Celine, Alexander Wang,
just to mention a few, walked the runways of Paris, New York, London and Milan,
while less expensive ones conquered the High Street.

What do you think about cape coats?
We think they're perfect for both dressing up (with heels or over-the-knee boots)
or down (they hide everything underneath!
how good is that when you don't have time to put real effort into your outfit?)!

C'è un altro grande trend della stagione di cui ancora non abbiamo parlato:
il cappotto a cappa!
Per anni abbiamo visto le cappe oscillare tra in e out (principalmente out),
ma adesso è arrivato il momento per un rientro in grande stile.
I bellissimi modelli di Chloé, Yves Saint Laurent, Celine, Alexander Wang,
solo per menzionarne alcuni, hanno sfilato a Parigi, New York, Londra e Milano,
mentre versioni meno costose hanno conquistato la High Street.

Cosa pensate dei cape coat?
Noi pensiamo che siano perfetti sia per un'occasione elegante
(con tacchi alti o stivali sopra al ginocchio), sia per situazioni più easy (infatti, una cappa nasconde tutto: una vera comodità se non si ha tempo di elaborare un vero outfit)!

Notting Hill - Pastels in Autumn/Winter

A few days ago, a friend told us she doesn't have the courage to wear
baby-yellow nail polish in autumn.

We have never really thought about this before but,
do people really consider soft pastel colours as a big no-no in the colder months?

We usually don't care much about what you're 'supposed' to wear,
in fact we like to express our personal style
standing out from the crowd, rather than blending in,
but we reckon that pastels are not the most obvious option for this season.

Inspired by the pretty pastel houses in Notting Hill,
we decided to do a little themed vintage shopping!

Here's what we found:
an adorable baby pink cami by Christian Lacroix at an amazing price :D

Qualche giorno fa, un'amica ci ha detto che non ha il coraggio di usare
uno smalto color giallo pallido in autunno.

Non ci avevamo mai riflettuto: ci facciamo davvero degli scrupoli a indossare
le tinte pastello nei mesi più freddi?

Di solito, noi non ci curiamo molto di cosa sia 'appropriato' indossare;
in effetti preferiamo esprimere il nostro stile personale e distinguerci, piuttosto che omologarci, ma riconosciamo che i colori pastello possano non essere
la scelta più ovvia per questa stagione.

Ispirandoci alle graziosissime case colorate di Notting Hill,
oggi abbiamo deciso di fare un piccolo shopping vintage a tema!

Ecco cosa abbiamo trovato: un' adorabile camicetta senza maniche in baby pink
di Christian Lacroix a un prezzo sorprendente :D
