Milano Design Week 2013

9-14 april 2013 - For art and design enthusiasts this week is synonym of excitement, exploration, and discovering. Milan Design Week is a chance to meet designers and companies from all over the planet, a cultural gathering that would be a disgrace missing, especially for someone living in Milan like me.

“In nature we never see anything isolated but everything in connection with something which is before it, beside it, under it, over it” (Goethe): this is the quote which, at the Hyundai event, opened my design week in Milan. Relations between objects, context and human beings have an essential importance for someone who dreams of pursuing this career/life path.

Design week is much more than just furniture. It's technology, fashion, materials, installations, art, 3performances that took place all around the city. Among the various design districts, five are the most interesting: Ventura Lambrate, Brera, Tortona, Porta Romana and Porta Venezia, each of them with its unique stamp.

From the utopic pieces of furniture by Umberto Dattola exposed in Lambrate to the famous companies' new designs we explored the different sides of the most entertaing week of the year guided by joy, passion and love for innovation!

9-14 aprile 2013 – Per tutti gli appassionati di design questa settimana è sinonimo di esplorazione, esaltazione, scoperta. La settimana del design di Milano è l'opportunità per eccellenza per incontrare designers e aziende provenienti da tutto il pianeta, un ritrovo culturale da non perdere, soprattutto per chi vive a Milano, come me.

“In nature we never see anything isolated but everything in connection with something which is before it, beside it, under it, over it” (Goethe): questa è la frase che, all'evento Hyundai, ha aperto la mia settimana del design. Esplorare le relazioni tra oggetti, contesto e esseri umani è di vitale importanza per chi sogna di intraprendere questo percorso nella carriera e nella vita.

La settimana del design è molto più che arredamento. E' tecnologia, moda, installazioni, arte, performance che hanno luogo in tutta la città. Tra I vari design district, cinque sono i più interessanti: Ventura Lambrate, Brera, Tortona, Porta Romana e Porta Venezia, ognuno con la propria impronta caratteristica.

Dall'arredamento utopico di Umberto Dattola ainuovi pezzi di design prodotti da famose aziende, abbiamo esplorato le diverse facce della settimana più interessante dell'anno con passione, gioia e amore per l'innovazione!
